Pumpkin Spiced Smoothie For Fall

Because we’re slightly obsessed and October feels largely incomplete without it, we’re re-posting (it originally graced the interwebs around this time last year) our all time favorite fall bevvy. And this year we're topping it with our chocolate pumpkin pie fudge. Made to satisfy even the most intense sugar cravings—which, let’s be honest, are amplified x100 this time of the year, thank you, Halloween—this magical combination of good-for-you ingredients tastes just like pumpkin pie.

Pumpkin Spiced Smoothie

Makes: 1 16 oz smoothie

1/2 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) — we like Farmer's Market Organic Pumpkin Puree
3/4 cup almond milk (homemade or look for brands that are carrageenan free)
1 frozen banana
1 tbsp almond butter
2 medjool dates, pitted
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
ice as needed

Add all ingredients to a high powered blender and blend until smooth.

To turn this into a smoothie bowl:

Decrease the almond milk to 1/2 cup and add 1-2 extra frozen bananas or 1/2 cup of frozen coconut meat to thicken it up. Top with pumpkin granola, walnuts, pumpkin seeds and fresh banana slices, or add in our chocolate pumpkin pie fudge like we did.
