On the last Friday of every month join us for Link Love From Across The Interweb. A collection of all things amazing. Inspiring articles, favorite finds, cool companies, and absolutely incredible people doing absolutely incredible things. Up to something amazing? We want to know! We loved Stacy London on the School of Greatness podcast with Lewis Howes. Tons of insights and totally honest wisdom on body-image, self-esteem, and of course, style. Ladies, if you’ve ever watched What Not To Wear, definitely check it out.
We’d like to live in a jungalow.
Currently craving this entire Instagram feed.
The owners of Cafe Gratitude and Gracias Madre, two incredibly popular (and delicious) vegan California eateries, recently announced that they’ve started consuming animal products again while still offering only vegan food in their restaurants. Unfortunately the news brought out a lot of outrage in the vegan community, which to us, is absolutely insane and totally ridiculous. What's your opinion: should vegan restaurant owners adhere to an exclusively vegan diet, or is it OK for them to eat whatever they want? Comment below. Obviously, we feel that they should be able to eat whatever they want, and that we shouldn’t judge (or maliciously bash) others based on their dietary habits.
Loved this SuperSoul Session Eckhart Tolle did for Oprah on the awakening of consciousness (so much so that I’ve already watched it 3 times and sent it to almost everyone in my family).
Speaking of Eckhart, his books, The Power of Now and A New Earth should be required reading for every single person on the planet.
Because we love a good family affair, our Instagram crush of the month goes to fashion bloggers Ashley and Katie Hess — sharing genes and jeans since 1992.
We’re convinced that all food tastes better in these bowls.
James Altucher on how minimalism brought him freedom and joy. We especially like this: “Emails are a suggestion but not an obligation.” And this… “Love and spirituality and gratitude are found in personal connection. Not in an email response.” And also this: “I never read random articles on the Internet unless they are by people I know. Mostly I read books I love. A friend asked me, when he heard all of this, “But aren’t you afraid you’re going to miss some information?” I asked him, “What information?” 99% of information we read, we forget anyway. The best way to remember is to “DO”. Otherwise, I look at nothing online. Experiences happen when you disconnect. And I choose experiences over goods or information.”
The Environmental Working Group debuted 2016’s Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen shopper's guides to pesticides in produce.
Has anyone read this? We’d love to know your thoughts. It’s up next on our reading list and we’ve been seeing it everywhere.
Latest (healthy) obsession: Everything Wim Hof, particularly this quote, “Breathe motherf*&ckers.” And this.
Ongoing (healthy) obsession, still this.
This poem by Danielle LaPorte is perfection. Please listen to the audio, it’s beyond (and kindof necessary for the full effect). “Pain/joy. Helplessness/so very helpful. Crisis/calm beauty…It softly kills me to openness. And I think that because I am willing to be slayed in that way, then the gratitude floods in. The gratitude for all I have — for what I can do. From day to day, to day.”
Incase you missed it: The heartbreaking realism of comparing yourself to your former self. Spoiler alert… Who you are right now is not a lesser version of who you once were.
A love note to women.
And one more, from us to you.
