There’s 11 days left in 2016.
Can you believe it?
We barely-sorta can.
2016 was a BIG year for us.
Not BIG in a glitzy, glam, cover-of-September-Vogue (apparently that’s huge), kind of way. But definitely BIG in terms of the insanely uncomfortable, character building, lol-is-this-really-happening-omg-lol-help kind of way. (We wrote about it here.) Anyway, that makes this our very last link love of the year!
Enjoy, darlings. December was/is? (I realize it’s still happening), exceptional.
Everything we’re currently obsessing over:
The ban.do agenda shop because we’ve yet to purchase our 2017 planners. Currently eyeing the 17 month lady of leisure agenda (in case anyone wants to buy me a gift). It’s sold out on their site but as I type this still available on amazon.
Mind Body Green’s health and wellness trends for the new year. We’d add CBD to the list as cannabis goes commercial.
The American Dietetic Association is still in favor of plants (go veg!). Earlier this month they revised their 2009 position to include that not only are vegetarian (and vegan) diets safe and appropriate for individuals in all stages of life, they’re also more environmentally sustainable than diets rich in animal products because they use fewer natural resources. PS. If you’re looking for an evidence-based paper to share with people that question your food choices (we’re predicting a lot of that this season), this is a great study to reference and share.
Actually, let’s not be in the moment. A very valid article questioning “mindfulness” and an equally valid response.
Lacy of Free + Native on transition. Always love her words.
This podcast with book mama Linda Sivertsen and Guru Singh is full of wisdom. I’m paraphrasing here but, “Anyone that says you shouldn't do this or shouldn't do that is looking at the world through their view, which, might be good for you to know, but is it good for you to follow?” Yesssss!
When I was idk, 8 maybe? I was petrified like, jump-on-the-kitchen-table / run-the-other-way petrified, of dogs. So of course, when I was 9… we got a dog. Thanks, dad! Anyway, eventually I grew to love him (and all dogs), but back when my dad would ask if I’d ever get over my fear, I’d respond, “when pigs fly”.
Speaking of dads, this video of dads reciting powerful affirmations with their daughters melts my heart.
Speaking of melting… the perfect mug and the perfect bevvy to melt your winter blues.

Have you heard of medical microcurrent technology? Apparently this natural anti-aging beauty treatment could replace botox.
Beet crystals? Yes! In love with this print.
We’re kind of obsessed with this new-to-us site. Have you heard of it?
I’m going to a wedding in Santa Barbara at the end of December. Kotuku will be my first stop, obviously.
My boyfriend came home with one of these a few weeks ago and um… IT’S THE BEST THING EVER. Who would have thought lying down on a bed of spikes could be so blissful?
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
Why does going home for the holidays turn you into a pissed off 5-year old? We have all the answers.
High vibe hot chocolate! A quick and easy recipe you’ll likely keep on tap until March (or June) depending on your geographical location.
Have your cake and eat it too (without becoming a total hyperglycemic mess), sweeten your holiday treats with these nutritionista approved sugar subs.
We might be biased but yoga is everything. For real read this.
These insanely delicious (vegan + GF) chocolate chip cookies are the perfect addition to your breakfast/lunch/dinner and any holiday soiree.
We talked about the wonderful mess of being human in our 2016 year end reflections.
