Chocolate Brownie Batter Smoothie Bowl

As we previously mentioned, we’re celebrating February with a full month of (self) love and lots and lots of chocolate (because chocolate is for lovers). There’s been love, there’s been alchemy, and of course, there’s been chocolate. Today we’re sticking with the L & C theme and sharing one of our all time favorite recipes — a decadent chocolate brownie batter smoothie bowl that is sure to impress all your loved ones (and all your instagram followers). Make this as a special Valentine’s Day treat (and make it again everyday after because YOU deserve it, and because it’s just that good).

Vegan Chocolate Brownie Batter Smoothie Bowl

You’re going to need:

This insanely delicious granola.
This chocolate magic sauce.
And a few other superfood ingredients we’ve listed below.

The end result is absolutely swoon-worthy. Here’s to a delicious and loved filled Valentine’s Day.

Chocolate Brownie Batter Smoothie Bowl
Makes: 1 serving


Vegan Chocolate Brownie Batter Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie Base:
½ cup almond milk
1 large frozen banana    
2 medjool dates (pitted)
1 tbs raw cacao powder
1 tbs almond butter
1⁄2 tbs coconut oil
1 tbs - 1 scoop sunwarrior vanilla warrior blend protein powder
pinch of cinnamon
pinch of salt
1⁄2 tsp maca (optional)
ice as needed

Blend ingredients in a high speed blender until thick and creamy.

*Note: Many blenders cannot blend frozen bananas on their own, so adjust liquid if necessary. We haven’t tried making this in a food processor so we can’t vouch for the results, so if you try it let us know!

Raw Vegan Chocolate Brownie Chunks:
6 jumbo medjool dates (pitted)
1/2 tbs coconut oil
1 1/2 tbs raw cacao powder
pinch salt

Add all ingredients to a food processor and pulse until combined. Roll into dime sized balls and store in freezer until ready to use.

*Note: You can make these the day before. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Add to smoothies, oatmeal or eat straight out of the fridge.

Raw Chocolate Magic Sauce:
½ tbs raw cacao powder
½ tbs maple syrup
1 tbs melted coconut oil

Warm coconut oil over low heat until melted. Add the maple syrup and cacao powder and whisk until combined. Set aside until ready to use. When you pour the magic sauce onto the cold smoothie it will harden (like magic)!

Hemp seeds
Coconut flakes
Fresh fruit (bananas, berries, pomegranate arils, etc.

Assemble your smoothie bowl! Be creative. Add as many toppings as you’d like in whatever fashion you’d like. Order is not important, love and creativity is. We would love to see your creations!
