Bliss Out Your Mornings In Two Minutes Or Less

We absolutely love the mornings, but that hasn’t always been the case. I used to struggle to get out bed and without fail, rush around like a crazy person to get out the door on time. Fortunately, things have changed quite a bit  — and I still wake up at the same time as I used too. So what’s the one simple change that took my mornings from totally stressed out to totally zenned out? 


Every morning, before going about my day-to-day, I now take the time to tune in and practice presence using this short meditation that leaves you feeling a deeper connection to your body and the present moment — lazy girl bonus: you don’t even have to leave your bed to do it

To begin the meditation lie on your back, palms facing up towards the ceiling, or sitting up, crossed legged on your bed. Keep your neck straight, shoulders relaxed, and your hands on your knees with your palms facing up. Eyes softly closed, begin to relax your body. 

Begin to bring your awareness to your breath, slowly inhaling and exhaling through the nose. Allow your mind to become one with your breath. If thoughts come up, don’t get caught in the story, simply let them go. Continue to focus on your breath, slowly inhaling and exhaling through the nose. After a few cycles of breath, direct your attention to your body. Begin to feel it from within. Starting at your toes, slowly making your way up to the crown of your head bring awareness to every inch of your body; noticing how the inner body feels and breathing into that space. As you go about this practice you will start to feel a strong sense of energy present within your body. When you feel ready, slowly open your eyes to the room. As you go about your day, tap into this energy whenever you need.
